Summer camps

We provide summer camp experiences designed to allow children to explore and engage their passions in a safe, exceptional, educational environment.

Week-long camps run Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout July and August.

Outdoor activity breaks will be scheduled throughout each day (weather permitting). Costs include materials and supplies for projects, experiments and activities. Participants are expected to bring their own peanut-free lunches, beverages and snacks.

We welcome campers aged five to 12.

  • fee: $260 per week
  • before- and after-camp child care is available beginning at 8 a.m. and ending at 5 p.m. daily for an additional fee.
  • additional fee:
    • one service for $10 per week
    • both services for $20 per week.

Camp descriptions

Agriculture

Campers are immersed in a complete farm experience at Camp Agriculture. In partnership with the Essa and District Agricultural Society, campers will have the experience to meet and greet a different animal each day, as well as learn about farm life and equipment. Campers will also complete different math and literacy components based on their animal(s) of the day.

Art: Creative Thinkers

Campers will learn new skills in this arts and crafts-based camp, as they develop their painting, drawing, cutting, pasting and sculpting skills. Campers will participate in themed days to enhance their artistic skill and work on pieces to display at their art show at the end of the week.

Art: Urban Art

In this advanced art-based program, campers will hone their existing skills, as well as develop new techniques in various aspects of fine arts. Campers will be engaged in themed days, providing them with the opportunity to immerse themselves in sketching, sculpting and painting.

Crime Scene Investigation: CSI

Youngsters will use their sleuthing skills to explore crime scene scenarios. Your child will learn basic forensic techniques and critical thinking skills through fun and interactive training exercises.

Leadership and Personal Brand

This energy boosting camp guides campers on a journey to reimagine what the world could be and how they as individuals can contribute and support that vision. Campers will participate in educational activities about self-esteem, social media and peer pressure, and will develop new strategies for promoting a positive outlook.

Master Builders’ Camp using LEGO® WeDo®

Calling all Lego fans! This camp provides not only traditional Lego-based educational opportunities, but also engineering and technology. Campers will work together and on their own as learn about building with Lego and programming moving Lego “We Do” structures.

Muskoka Science: Superheroes

Campers investigate the science behind what makes superheroes tick. From Superman, Batman and the Flash  to Iron Man, Captain America and the Black Widow there is science behind what made each of our favourite characters. Students will learn lessons like, why Bruce Banner transforms into the Hulk when his temper gets the best of him and why Thor is only strong when he’s holding his hammer.  This camp is sure to get your child excited about the world of science.

Robot Academy using LEGO® MINDSTORMS®

This advanced Lego camp incorporates technology, computer programming and engineering for older campers. Throughout the week, campers will work with Lego Mindstorms kits as they work to build and program their robots to follow specific commands, play songs and even be guided through obstacle courses.

Science: Explorers

Lab coats, goggles and a real-world lab setting will make your child feel like a scientist for the week! Designed with younger learners in mind, this science camp will help your child get excited about the world of science. Junior scientist will learn the basics of science through interactive experiments in an inclusive and educational learning environment. Junior scientists will complete a group project to display at our weekly science fair.

Science: Scientists in Training

Calling all future scientists! In this science training program, young scientists will have the opportunity to learn the FUN-damentals of science in a real-world lab setting. Through collaboration and critical thinking, campers will put on their scientist hats and explore all aspects of science. Physics, chemistry and biology are only a few topics. Daily experiments and science fair projects will enrich the minds of our future scientists.

Theatre

In this inclusive camp, counsellors help guide campers through the process of putting on a production. Campers will learn about different components of drama (monologue, singing, etc.,) and will participate in writing and producing their own screenplay, creating sets and performing their play at the end of the week for family and friends.
