2016 Summer Camps

Children and youth aged five to 12 learn about science, art, engineering and agriculture  in our weekly fun and educational summer day camps.

Georgian College’s curriculum-based child and youth summer camps cost $260 per week (register prior to April 30, 2016 for early bird pricing to save $40). Costs include materials and supplies for the projects, experiments and activities. Participants are expected to bring their own peanut-free lunches, beverages and snacks.

Camp programming is scheduled Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (excluding holidays). Outdoor activity breaks will be scheduled throughout each day, weather permitting.

Before- and after-care is available for an additional fee of $10 to $20 per week. Before care begins at 8 a.m. and after care ends at 5 p.m. each day.

Camp Ag(riculture)

In partnership with the Essa and District Agricultural Society, this camp will give children an opportunity to learn about local agriculture and participate in hands-on experiences with livestock, gardening and more.

Art Experience: Creative Thinkers

Young artists will explore basic art concepts through project-based learning in our art studios. Your child will be introduced to fundamentals of drawing, painting and sculpture using a variety of materials. At the end of the week, your child will have the opportunity to display his or her work at a weekly afternoon art exhibit.

Crime Scene Investigation: CSI Camp

Youngsters will use their sleuthing skills to explore crime scene scenarios. Your child will learn basic forensic techniques and critical thinking skills through fun and interactive training exercises.

Discover Your Personal Brand Camp

The Discover Your Personal Brand Camp involves Dove Confident Me workshops address key topics including social media, peer pressure and strategies for promoting and protecting body confidence.

Master Builders’ Camp using LEGO® WeDo

Your master builder will take his or her creativity to the next level through lessons and collaboration using LEGO® pieces. Introductory robotics using LEGO® WeDo will teach your child how to build and program simple models so he or she can bring their creations to life.

Robot Academy using LEGO® MINDSTORMS®

No prior robot-building experience necessary. Our Robot Academy will have your youngster using LEGO® Technic pieces to discover simple machine concepts. With LEGO® MINDSTORMS®, real-life robotics technology will enable your child to build, program and test his or her EV3 creations in a collaborative environment.

Science Camp: Science Explorers

Designed with younger learners in mind, this science camp will help your child get excited about the world of science. Your junior scientist will learn the basics of chemistry, biology and physics through fun and interactive experiments. Group projects will be on display at our weekly science fair.

Young scientists will have the opportunity to learn the FUN-damentals of science in a real-world lab setting. Through collaboration and critical thinking, your child will create a science fair project for our weekly science fair.
